Coastal Travel and 150 mile Offshore passage
The Route
We are travelling from Puerto Vallarta MX to La Paz, MX. This will include a 150 mile offshore passage from mainland Mexico to the Baja peninsula.
This is an upwind trip and so this schedule is very subject to change depending on weather. Norther’s are common and can delay the crossing several days and/or affect the port we choose to cross from and the port we arrive at.
Pick up at Marina Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta MX
Drop you off in La Paz, MX

13 and 14 - "Flex days"
These are all stops we can make depending on the weather but remember that the priority will be timing the crossing.
We will know more within the last two weeks before we leave and we have better weather info. Even then the final decisions will be made in the few days before.
Getting to us
We will have the boat in Marina Vallarta for your arrival to make things easy. You could easily walk there from the airport in about 30 minutes or a 5 minute cab ride.
We will arrange to meet you at a bar, restaurant or coffee shop in the marina area to ensure we connect (in case your phone doesn’t work here). “WhatsApp” has worked well for us here as a messaging app and is one of the best ways to get in touch with us.
Getting Home
We plan on landing in a marina in either La Paz or Cabo San Lucas.
It is always possible that we need to divert to an alternate port. If you have an early morning flight, you may want to consider that busses are not always optimal with a tight schedule. Allowing time and money to stay in a hotel the night before you leave is one option.
Another option might be to have money available for a taxi straight to the airport.
Whatever you decide, make sure to consider this added time / expense when making plans.
Weather
It’s probably going to be pretty awesome. March April is the perfect time to travel with cool nights and hot days.

Remember that the main priority is crossing the Sea of Cortez. Depending on the weather it can be an easy trip with lots of stops or an uphill slog with limited stops. We will see what we get.
If you are interested in joining us please fill out the application form below and we can get you on the wait list.
Please remember that we receive a lot of applications and simply applying does not mean you will get to crew aboard Liquid.
We also are often a week or two without internet or email contact and it may take us a while to get back to you.
