SHARING COSTS

Sharing Expenses

Running a big boat is expensive.

Everything is custom and usually made out of some exotic material.

Then we put it all in one of the more corrosive environments on the planet and subject it to endless cyclical loading and occasional extreme shock loads.

If that's not enough we continuously blast it with UV radiation day after day.

Fuel is more expensive than on land and not as easy to obtain.  Provisioning can also be much more expensive and with much less access.

If you decide to join Liquid as crew you will be sharing in all of these expenses for your time on board.

This is on top of marina fees, food, fuel (diesel and gasoline) and all of the other regular consumables on the boat.

While it's impossible to know the exact amount before we sail we know what we have averaged in the past.  With our smaller number of crew and our size of boat we have had trip expenses as high as over $100 USD per person per day.  (It depends on a lot of things, including how much we motor and time in marinas and so on)...

In order to keep things easy we have decided to ask that you pitch in a set amount of $$USD/day while you are with us to cover your share.  If daily expenses are more than this we will cover the difference ourselves.  This way it should be easy for you to budget and we know we can at least cover our basic costs.

It will not cover alcohol.   (BYOB)
It will not include anything that we choose to do during our time on shore. (Restaurants / Bars / Other Activities)
It will not cover any of your travel to or from the boat or anything before or after you are on board.
