Sea OF CORTEZ - UPCOMING PASSAGES
EXPLORING The SEA of CORTEZ
Back in the Water??
When we finally splash it will probably be winter or even spring. If so our cruising season will start with a 500 mile passage from the Northern End of the Sea of Cortez straight to La Paz at the Southern End of Baja. We want to get to warmer weather and water as quickly as possible!!
We will spend our next few trips exploring the beautiful Islands near La Paz as we slowly start working our way north again as things warm up. The islands have beautiful beaches, great hiking, snorkeling and lots of opportunities for just plain lounging.
We will continue to work our way north along the Baja coast in the Sea of Cortez. The coast has a bunch of cute towns worth exploring so we will get a good taste Baja culture on the way up to our summer hangout spot.
Summer in the Sea
Once we get all the way up to Bahia de Los Angeles we plan to settle in for the summer. Bahia de Los Angeles is far enough north that it is almost completely out of the hurricane belt. In the unlikely event that a big storm does comes through, there is an excellent hurricane hole available to shelter in. There are several anchorages near by to change the scenery and Bay of LA is a good place to re-stock.
It is important to note that it gets hot in the Sea of Cortez in the summer. Real hot. We won't be moving around much on these trips. There is no cell signal, no internet and almost no people. Reading, swimming, naps. This is a great place to disconnect from world for a while.
Fall Travels
In October as the hurricane season starts winding down we will make our way across the Sea to the little town of San Carlos. From there we start working our way south. We will make a series of stops on the way in order to explore the Mexican mainland coast.
By early November we plan to be in Puerto Vallarta to start the regular cruising season!
If you are interested in joining us please send an email to [email protected] and we can get you on the list.
Please remember that we receive a lot of interest and simply filling out the forms does not mean you will get to crew aboard Liquid.
We also are often a week or two without internet or email contact and it may take us a while to get back to you.
