PLAYA NARANJO

We spent a few days here.

You are close to the ferry terminal if you want (or need) to go to Puntarenas and there is a small resort on shore with a pool and restaurant.
The ferry terminal is also a good place if someone needs to catch a bus back to Liberia.  You can dingy over directly from the
anchorage.

The  resort is pretty quiet and we didn't see very many guests while we were there.  We paid a day use fee to use the pool and showers.  It was ok but nothing special.  We had some drinks and sat under the palapas to soak up some internet.

Later we had a meal at the restaurant and had the same reaction.  It was ok but nothing great.

I probably wouldn't recommend Playa Naranjo as a "destination" but if you are coming this way anyway it makes for a good stop.

Anchoring

Anchor Depth – 11ft (8ft tide)

It's shallow pretty far out in this bay. Look at the pictures and see how far out the boat is.  That is 11ft of water.

Good holding.  There is a bit of current here.

Water temp and Clarity

Murky.

ANNOYANCES

The current holds you parallel to shore and means you are often at odds with the wind.
